I am happy to announce that we have a speaker for CALug‘s April 14th meeting. Daniel T Chen has volunteered to give a talk for us entitled “Making Ubuntu Audio Not Suck”
Summary: As the Ubuntu desktop matures in 10.04 LTS (“Lucid Lynx”), bugs are being squashed across the entire software stack. The presenter will summarize continuous efforts to work around commonly broken sound hardware and to fix outstanding audio bugs in high-profile applications.
Bio: Daniel T Chen is a community Ubuntu core developer who has gained and lost grey hairs fighting the ALSA and PulseAudio backlashes.
